NARCOTIC DRUG ADDICTION IN TURKEY

Being the outcome of a two-day workshop program that discusses the extent of substance usage, fundamental problems, preventive work, treatment-rehabilitation processes in Turkey, this book will fill an important gap in the substance addiction issue.

In the preparation stage of the workshop, it was intended to design a work pattern which would make this workshop different from the previous workshops themed narcotic drug addiction. Within this scope, in addition to psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and doctors who are qualified in narcotic drug addiction, participants such as the police, ex-users, activists, imams and café owners also came together.

So, both the sufferers and the experts in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation processes gathered. As a result of the workshop of 8 sessions in total of two days came out an inclusive text of 293 articles that involves the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation processes for narcotic drug addiction. The results were thematically classified and sorted in order of importance and the proposals in which expectations about substance use from Turkish Green Crescent Society were stated at the end.
